Welcome to 26-27 School Year
Welcome to a new school year! On behalf of the Horace Mann PTA, we are thrilled to welcome back returning families and to greet those joining our community for the first time. We would love to see you at our Welcome Back Event on Sunday, August 9 at 10 am. It's a great chance to connect with other families, teachers, and staff before the year begins. For new families, please come early at 9:30 am for a short intro and tours.
As a parent and PTA President, I know the start of a school year brings excitement — and a few nerves. At a school of more than 570 students, the PTA is what helps Horace Mann still feel like home. This year, our focus is simple: strengthen that sense of community, and make sure every child has what they need to flourish and lead the pack.
None of this happens without our families. When you join the PTA, you're not just supporting events and programs — you're adding your voice to the decisions that shape our kids' year. The more of us who join, the stronger that voice becomes, and the clearer the message to our children: we are Huskies too, and we're all in on their success.
What PTA membership and the Husky Annual Fund Makes Possible: Our community is powered by our families through membership, volunteering, fundraising and the Husky Annual Fund, all of which is what brings so many of our most-loved programs to life, some including:
Makerspace, art, STEM activities and music enrichment
Physical education and lunchtime craft activities
Grade-level enrichment experiences (like the butterfly pavilion, aquarium sea creatures visits, eco station animals, mad science)
Bedtime Stories, Friday Paw Parades
The Multicultural Festival, Spring Carnival, and Husky Talent Show, Husky Hoedown, Chili Cook Off
We are asking families to consider a contribution of $550 per student, which reflects the cost of the PTA funded programs your child enjoys all year. Knowing each family's circumstances are different - our goal is 100% participation, with each family giving at a level that is comfortable for them. There are many ways to be part of it all. Join the PTA, volunteer at an event, help in a classroom, or simply show up and cheer on our students. Every contribution, big or small, helps build the welcoming community that makes Horace Mann so special.
